Methodology & Data Governance
How we source, classify, and verify UAE healthcare data.
Our Approach
The commercial value of healthcare intelligence depends on data quality and provenance, not software features. Every claimed data point must trace to a verifiable source. We do not generate or fabricate data — we structure, classify, and attribute existing information so our users can inspect and cite it directly.
When data is missing, we say so. When estimates are used, we label them as estimates. When sources disagree, we show both values with their respective sources. Transparency is not a feature — it is the foundation of the platform.
Data Pipeline
Source Identification
We identify potential data sources — government open data portals, statistical yearbooks, WHO databases, published literature, and licensed datasets. Each source is assessed for accessibility, format, licensing terms, and commercial reuse permissions.
Data Extraction
Data is extracted using the most reliable method available for each source: API calls for structured endpoints, manual extraction for PDF reports, or licensed downloads. The extraction method is recorded for every data point.
Classification & Attribution
Every observation is assigned a data classification (see below), linked to its specific source, and tagged with the reporting year and extraction method. This metadata travels with the data point throughout the platform.
Validation & Review
Data is checked for completeness, internal consistency, and plausibility. Cross-source validation is performed where multiple sources cover the same indicator. Discrepancies are documented, not hidden.
Version Control
Every change to a data point is logged with the old value, new value, reason for change, and who made it. Users can see the full history of any observation, ensuring full auditability.
Data Classification System
Every data point on the platform carries one of these classifications, displayed as a color-coded badge.
Published by government health authorities (MOHAP, DHA, DOH). Authoritative for regulatory and policy data.
From academic studies published in peer-reviewed journals. Subject to editorial and methodological review.
From recognized international organizations (WHO, World Bank) or publicly available reports.
From commercially licensed datasets with specific terms of use and redistribution restrictions.
Provided by domain experts through structured interviews or consultations. Expert credentials documented.
Derived from statistical models. Methodology, inputs, and assumptions documented and reproducible.
Data that has been collected but not yet verified against its original source. Flagged for review.
